GEORGIE

I am a dog walker, trainer and boutique shop owner based in the UK. I have worked as a dog trainer for more than 6 years, with extensive experience in residential care for dogs of all breeds, temperaments and behavioural backgrounds.

My love for dogs started in childhood, a passion that grew to where I am now - offering expert care and advice to dog owners in need of guidance.

My true interest lies within canine psychology and behaviour - how both genetics and environment can play a huge role in behavioural problems.

I use behavioural models and learning theories as the basis of my training methodology, having trialed multiple popular methods used by large numbers of trainers worldwide - I have onboarded strategies that I have found to be hugely successful with my clients, creating my own method of training solely from experience, results and feedback.

Hi, I’m Georgie…

Both Bob and Tofu are rescue dogs, meaning they each come with a history that makes it hard to explain certain behaviours and characteristics.

Tofu is pretty much the perfect dog for a typical pet owner - she is super friendly, affectionate and tolerant. I honestly couldn’t tell you why she was re-homed because she is the sweetest girl.

I rescued Tofu (then, Luna) when she was just over 18 months old, which gave me a slight advantage in terms of training her while she was still young.

Training Tofu was an absolute delight. She was already super motivated by food and play when she arrived, making the teaching phase uncomplicated. Not so long after adopting Tofu, I decided I wanted another Bulldog. After all, the first one was easy-peasy, what could go wrong?

Bob came to me at only 9 months old. Again, my belief was ‘the younger the dog, the more trainable they will be’.

From the get-go it was clear that Bob had had a difficult upbringing. He was clearly nervous and wary of his new home, displaying signs of reactivity and aggression when approached by strangers and/or men in particular. However, our bond from day one was undeniable and it only grew stronger with time and patience.

The rescue centre (Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming UK) informed me that Bob had been neglected in his early life, being kept in a crate for the majority of his 9 months before being rescued. This lead to him being extremely under-socialised and under-exposed, which has been challenging in overcoming and reverse in his training.

Nonetheless, Bob has surprised us all with his eagerness to learn and face his behavioural issues head on. His training has been the most rewarding, challenging and fulfilling experiences of my life - teaching me more about dog training than any degree or case study.

Owning a problematic dog allows me to understand clients on a deeper level and advise solutions based on personal experience as well as professional.

My affinity for dogs began in my early life, having grown up with a Golden Retriever named Murphy, whom I was gifted for my 10th birthday. My bond and friendship with Murphy was one I will always cherish and remember as my first experience of finding a best friend in the shape of a dog! He got me through tough times, he gave me a sense of responsibility from an early age, and he taught me unconditional love.

My first experience with dog training started when I moved to Leeds at 19 years old and worked as an administrator for a dog training company. It was around this time when I adopted Tofu, my very own star employee! All the knowledge I had learnt shadowing trainers in the company and filming for social media, I instantly applied to Tofu’s training. I then realised, I’m pretty good at this! My journey had only just begun.

I stayed in Leeds until 2022, having co-owned a dog training company there, and learning my own style of dog training through trial and error, I moved back down South with the ambition to start a new company in my hometown.

Being one of the only dog trainers in Bath and the surrounding areas, my calendar quickly became full with clients and dogs from all walks of life. From simply stopping dogs pulling to working with human aggressive behaviour - my services continuously helped transform peoples lives.

Now, I have re-located to the North-East of England, near Stockton-On-Tees in County Durham. Here, I am dedicating myself to offer owners and their dogs the best quality services they deserve. I understand that every dog is unique, and has individual needs, which is why each and every case I work with is given a brand new, personalised programme.

My overall goal is to transfer my knowledge and practises to the clients I work with. This means I try to have as much of a ‘hands-off’ approach to training your dog - leaving you to be the one to apply the theory and practical work yourself. This allows your relationship and trust to grow with your dog, enabling you both to go through this training journey together.
